Not your typical curry spot, Tadka specializes in Northwest Indian food, brought to the suburbs by the owner of Bamboo Garden in Hoffman Estates and Aurora. Since opening in April 2008, the upscale spot has already become a destination for dressed-up diners with something to celebrate. This is a primo spot to woo a vegetarian, even if you're not one yourself. Meat-free options include wood-grilled kabobs of sweet American corn, figs and almonds spiced with pepper, cardamom, cinnamon and cloves; meat eaters can opt for seafood dishes such as marinated tiger shrimp cooked over charcoal.
