Owner Frank Morales Jr.'s  wife suggested the name for this casual counter-service spot, based on the mix of Spanish and English he uses to talk to the cooks at his other two Loop-based La Cocina (178 N. Franklin St. & 45 N. Wells St.) restaurants. The menu echoes the eats served at La Cocina: Mexican favorites like tostadas, fajitas, cactus salad and fish tacos. Dishes will be priced for $10 or less and come with complimentary chips and mild green or spicy red salsa; the eatery will also offer vegetarian-friendly refried black beans and huevos rancheros for breakfast, which is served all day.
