Open since December 2007, Rose's Wheat-free Bakery and Cafe is a boon for the allergy-afflicted, with a menu of goodies (cakes, cookies, pastries and bread) that are completely gluten-free. Rather than corn syrup, all treats here are made with agave nectar, touted to affect blood sugar levels much less than sugar. The cafe menu is also gluten-free; menu highlights include breaded chicken strips with cranberry relish, salads made with organic greens, thin-crust pizzas and burgers made from grass-fed beef. Unique side dishes include chips made from russet and sweet potatoes fried in canola oil, or Asian-inspired cole slaw with a vinegar-lime-ginger dressing.
