Originally from Denver, with another location at 1 W. Grand Ave. in downtown Chicago, Rock Bottom has seized the microbrewery craze and put a tap on it. Handcrafted right in the on-location brewery by a resident brewmaster are a Chicago Gold malty ale, a Walleye Wheat malt, an Erik the Red Ale and a Brown Bear Brown ale. Other seasonal brew specialties are also on tap. Lofty decor features exposed brick walls, wooden booths, tables and chairs seating 300 and a huge bar. Food choices include asiago cheese dip served with beer bread, Mrs. Chow's Sizzling Shrimp Salad, Southwestern Shrimp and Chicken Pasta, fish and chips, chicken enchiladas and more.
