Located on the University of Chicago campus, the museum showcases history, art and archaeology of the ancient Near East. The Edgar and Deborah Jannotta Mesopotamian Gallery features more than 1,300 objects from the Paleolithic Period to the Sasanian Period. A 16-foot-tall human-headed winged bull from Khorsabad highlights the collection, which also includes pottery, clay tables, metal vessels and other artifacts.
