In 1988, DePaul University acquired the Blackstone Theatre, which they renamed the Merle Reskin Theatre, and which is used as a performance center for DePaul's theater school. The 80-year old theater now provides classic productions at bargain ticket prices. The plays, which are directed, designed and performed by DePaul's drama students, provide a way of training and serve as a showcase for young talent, while offering audiences vintage theater. Some of the theater's recent productions include ``Peter Pan,'' ``The Secret Garden'' and ``Six Degrees of Separation.''
