The first Chicago location of the national chocolate chain moved from Orland Park to Chicago, letting Old Town residents indulge in the eatery's homemade peanut butter cups, caramel corn and other sweet treats. Take a few steps inside on the store's hardwood floors -- just past the decorative chocolate waterfalls -- to watch workers whipping up a batch of one of 10 types of fudge. Kilwin's other confections include handmade caramel-coated apples and chocolate Rice Krispie treats. Ice cream aficionados also won't be disappointed with 32 flavors of rich, 31-percent-butterfat kosher ice cream in flavors such as Old Town Mud (vanilla ice cream with chocolate, caramel and toasted coconut) and Blueberry Waffle Cone.
