It's hard to miss this 20-seat Bridgeport quick-serve restaurant, sitting under the Dan Ryan Expressway. Just look for that enormous mural on the side of the building featuring an oversized, flame-enhanced "Carbon" logo. The flame refers to the food prep ("carbon" means charcoal in Spanish)-- but the meats and veggies for the tacos, burritos and burrito bowls are fire-grilled on a gas grill. Selections include the usual chicken and steak, plus there's a tortilla-crusted tilapia option. Carbon offers four daily house-made salsas, including traditional pico de gallo and salsa verde, plus a sweet roasted corn and pineapple and a hot picoso. Additional seasonal salsas also make the menu (like black bean and papaya and mango and avocado).
