Bar Roma showcases the cuisine of Rome, Italy and specialty meatballs. The concept behind Bar Roma was inspired by The Meatball Shop in New York City and the great neighborhood restaurants of Rome, Italy. Executive Chef Fred Ramos brings extensive knowledge of Italian cuisine and presents classic Roman dishes like spaghetti cacio e pepe, carciofi giudia and agnello scottadito, in addition to an array of "Il Polpette" (meatballs), hot and cold antipasti, hand made pastas, seafood, meats, sides and desserts. The vision for the 3,100 square foot venue is a merger of rustic Italian and industrial Chicago. The bar and dining room incorporate local reclaimed wood, Chicago bricks, dramatic light fixtures, herringbone patterned wood bar and distressed bar stools. Original penny tile and wood flooring found in the 1914 building are patched with concrete, similar to a Roman ruin.
