This tapas and cocktail spot, directly across from the Logan Square Blue Line el stop, is from brothers Jaime and Robert Otero (a Logan local). Look for pan-seared sea bass with crispy potatoes, braised radicchio and blood orange vinaigrette; roast rack of lamb with vanilla port sauce, lemon and mint risotto and dried fruit compote; sliced chorizo with herb roasted potatoes; and more.
The rust-and-chocolate hued 34-seat storefront spot features a handsome bar, banquette seating and two primo tables right in the front windows. Though the name is spanish for "sugar"; Jaime says they chose it to honor Salsa diva Celia Cruz (fans will know "azucar!" was one of Cruz's signature audience shout-outs); we're betting Cruz will appear in Azucar's music rotation.
