Angelo’s Wine Bar,  an Italian fusion shared plates restaurant, originally opened in 1962 as a casual take out pizzeria. As the neighborhood grew so did Angelo’s. In 2015 the restaurant closed for a massive facelift which included launching a wine program and new menu. Chef Julia Helton's rustic menu, featuring Midwest ingredients from valued local purveyors, takes its cue from her travels to South East Asia, South America, and Europe. Beyond reflecting the aromas, flavors and colors of the Italian explorers in its cuisine, Angelo's wine list focuses on boutique vineyards from Italy, France, and Spain with a nod to several excellent American producers.
