This event is for parents, students and community members. Education and open lines of communication are keys to prevention and treatment. Hear from four experts: Jim Davis, founder of the Good Athlete Project and staff at New Trier High School; Marsha Pesavento, a NorthShore mom who has lived the nightmare of addiction following her son Joey's sports injury; Brian King, former Wilmette police chief [now in Hinsdale] who is keenly aware of law enforcements' efforts; and, Jim DeFrancesco, of Loyola University, discusses the science of opioid addiction. Parents have an opportunity to walk through a mock teen bedroom provided by the Linked Together Coalition.
