A new book, “Modern Girls,” will be reviewed and discussed. “This book tells the story of the trials as well as the issues of the women of the 1930s… living through a rough Depression and they went on to battle the problems of their era, including unwanted pregnancies as well as Depression-stoked strikes and breadlines. In the midst of all this, the rise of Nazi-ism in Europe suddenly added to their burdens,” says Sisterhood President, Judy Frank.
