Before interstates and federal highways were distinguished by numbers, roads were christened with colorful names that reflected the personality of the land surrounding it. Larry McClellan presents how changes in
American culture and society have impacted transportation in Illinois. Part of the Terminal Town Exhibit from September 6-30, a unique exhibit showcasing Chicago's air, bus, and rail terminals of the past with color maps, photos, and fun facts. Terminal Town is a program of the Chaddick Institute for Metropolitan Development at DePaul University in cooperation with Lake Forest College and generous sponsors.
