This 10th-annual event aims "to share multiple perspectives of the pro-life stand against abortion," according to promotional materials. Among the speakers calling for an end to abortion in Illinois and throughout the nation: Chicago Archbishop Blase Cupich, Congressmen Peter Roskam and Dan Lipinski, and families representing several generations. The date commemorates the 1973 Supreme Court decision (Roe v. Wade) legalizing U.S. abortions. Join Dr. Erwin Lutzer of the Moody Church, a Planned Parenthood clinic director, Abby Johnson, a founder of the pro-life movement, Joe Scheidler, and many others for a march from Federal Plaza through the Loop to James R. Thompson Center. Rallies will be held in the origin and destination of the march. "The March for Life Chicago message is one of love and hope," stated Emily Zender, president of March for Life Chicago, in a release. "This occasion affirms the authentic dignity of women, celebrates the gift of children, and promotes a culture dedicated to protecting life at every stage of development." For more information, visit
