Though little known to most Illinois citizens, Illinois has rich and diverse traditions of folk and ethnic music and art which continues to the present. Join Folk Executive Director and Co-curator of the "From Generation to Generation Exhibit", Bucky Halker, for a discussion of folk and ethnic arts in Illinois and the research that led to the creation of the exhibit. Halker will highlight the work of sample artists in the exhibit and how communities around the state benefit from learning about those artistic traditions in their own communities. He will also perform a few folk songs he collected in his travels through the prairie state.
