This opens the ESOs 59th season of exhilarating musical adventures. "Celestial Visions" features Emmy-nominated astronomer and photographic artist José Salgado, whose films are set to John Estacio’s Aurora Triptych. Also on the program are Symphony No. 3 in C Major by Jean Sibelius, Johann Strauss’s Blue Danube Waltz, and 2019 Stanger Young Artist Audition winner, pianist Justin Chang, playing the first movement of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2. The ESO accepts donations of non-food items for the Elmhurst-Yorkfield Food Pantry at the concert. The concert experience is enhanced by the informative and lively discussion, Behind the Music Stand, led by Dr. Ted Hatmaker, which takes place at 5:45 p.m. prior to the concert.
