By 1944, nearly 35,000 young Nisei had left the incarceration camps for the Midwest, with a majority arriving in Chicago.  Courage and Compassion chronicles the stories of Japanese Americans during and immediately after WWII, and highlights stories of bravery, integrity, and support of Japanese Americans from the Chicago area.
