Chicago native Lena Waithe may be best known for her role as the sly, snapback-rocking lesbian Denise on the Netflix series "Master of None." Before sharing the screen with Aziz Ansari, she was a writer for the Fox television series "Bones" and Nickelodeon's "How to Rock" and a producer of the 2014 satirical film "Dear White People." Next up: Showtime has commissioned a series pilot written by Waithe and produced by Common, an ensemble coming-of-age story set on the South Side. Come hear her story.
