The Lake to Prairie Wild Ones presents this Native Landscaping Conference to provide a wealth of information for people new to the native plant idea and the practiced native gardener. Taking place in Building C and beginning with 8 a.m. registration, coffee, exhibitor showroom, and book store. The program includes: Keynote Speaker: Steve Swenson – “Aldo Leopold’s Land Ethic: The Product of Perspective;” Speaker: Benjamin Vogt – “The Ethics of 21st Century Gardening;” Speaker: Heather Holm – “Attracting Bees and Beneficial Insects with Native Plants;” and Speaker: Jean Foley – “Native Pollinator Monitoring at Somme Prairie Nature Preserve.” Also don’t miss the concurrent education sessions to choose from and an Organic Farmer’s Market. Ticket prices: Wild One members $35 and non-members $40 with both including lunch; $20 students with I.D. Tickets are available at the website.
