Erica Mott Productions offers this "multimedia technopera," featuring Hope Littwin, Jenna Lyle and Katie Mazzini. Created by Mott, Todd Clark, Ryan Ingebritsen, Fides Krucker, Kristin Mariani, John Boesche and Leigh Stanton Breslau, the live show explores "the female body’s relationship with machinery, commodity and labor organization in the historic and contemporary textile industries," according to promotional materials, as well as "women's roles as laborers and organizers for workers’ rights in the textile industry through three different periods of global history: pre-Civil War agricultural production, the Industrial Revolution and the contemporary ‘sweatshop'." The setting is worth mentioning, too: "an evolving structure that gradually envelops the audience, providing an intimate space of visceral engagement between spectator and performer." Taking place over two weekends, the show is paired with the month-long "Excavating the Singer: Female Voice, Labor and Migration" exhibition. Street and garage parking is available.
