Lookingglass Theatre in the Water Tower Water Works

821 N. Michigan Ave.
Chicago, IL 60611
312-337-0665
The long-itinerant theater company moved into its newly-renovated (but still functioning) home in June of 2003. The historic landmark was one of the few structures to survive the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, just two years after the building's completion. The new theater space offers approximately 220 seats, with additional studio space for presentations, special events, intimate performances, classes and rehearsals. Tall ceilings complement the Lookingglass' penchant for circus stunts and acrobatic forms of stagecraft.

Founded in 1988 by eight Northwestern University graduates, Lookingglass ensemble notables include David Schwimmer of "Friends," Joey Slotnick of "Boston Public" and Tony Award-winner Mary Zimmerman.
