Matsuya

3469 N. Clark St.
Chicago, IL 60657
773-248-2677
Owner Michie Yokomori bought this long-standing Japanese restaurant and added a sushi bar to complement the tempura- and teriyaki-heavy menu. Nigiri sushi (raw fish on top of rice), sashimi (pieces of raw fish) and makimono (sushi rolls) are all offered. The sushi, ordered separately or in combinations, continues to be one of the main draws for diners wedged in at Matsuya's closely spaced tables. You can also choose tempura, yakitori (skewers) or udon (soft wheat noodles served in broth). Nine types of cooked fish are offered daily, depending upon availability.
