Named after the well-known jazz tune, Green Dolphin Street is a slick and pricey restaurant and jazz club that caters to a wide age range. The sea-green dining room is roomy and luxurious while the club is described as a "'retro ballroom," by manager Richard Glass; the elegant, wood-paneled club has a dramatic floor-to-ceiling liquor case and a humidor filled with noteworthy cigars. The club menu features appetizers, pizza, sandwiches and the like for under $12.
Of course, patrons can choose only to dine or only see the band, but when both are served up so well and so conveniently it's hard not to indulge. (Plus, double dippers get their music admission comped.)
The club features jazz, from traditional to Latin to big band, as well as separate nights for R&B and soul.
