A European-style luxury hotel, the Sofitel is a striking triangular structure -- designed by Parisian architect Jean-Paul Viguier who won the commission in a contest pitting him against local favorites Lucien Lagrange and Helmut Jahn. It's constructed of bright, white, opaque glass, and flares outward as it rises to 33 stories. Following the tradition of Sofitel hotels around the globe, the interior is awash in modern art and fabulous floral accents. Guest rooms and suites feature plush amenities and dramatic city views.
Restaurants include Cafe des Architectes, a French brassiere; Le Bar, a swank watering hole featuring martinis poured tableside; and Cigale, a Mediterranean fine-dining restaurant is slated to open in the future.
