Lotties Pub

1925 W. Cortland Ave.
Chicago, IL 60622
773-489-0738
A bar with a colorful past, Lottie's is a former gambling hall, prostitution den and strip tease joint. Legend has it that Lottie was born a hermaphrodite. Take a look at the old black and white photograph on the bar's west wall of a masculine-looking Lottie in a flower-print dress, head cocked and hands on her hips--what do you think? There's various memorabilia on hand if you want to piece together Lottie's checkered history. This spacious and comfortable wood-paneled bar is a favorite of neighborhood folks, especially with plenty of TVs and flat screens on hand for sports lovers. There's a smaller bar downstairs, but it comes equipped with a large projection TV.
