Grand Central, this pub takes on a more mature, gastro-pub approach that caters to a lunch crowd and River North locals coming in for an afterwork cocktail. (Weekend nights seem to draw the younger, post-college crowd--and sometimes a line to get in.) Set in a historical building on LaSalle Street, English offers three levels for dining, drinking and lounging, including a third floor available for private parties. The building's art deco facade inspired the interior, which boasts terracotta and glass tiles, walnut flooring and cast iron columns and accents behind the bar.
