We know -- Xni-Pec sounds more like a computer corporation than a Yucatecan restaurant, but that's just because you didn't know that the name is pronounced "shnee pek." This eatery specializes in authentic cuisine from Mexico's Yucatan region, which the owners describe as a blend of European and Mexican flavors. Try the poc chuc, sliced pork marinated in sour orange juice and served with picked onions, or the pollo pibil, chicken flavored with achiote, garlic, peppercorns and baked in banana leaves. If you're feeling under the weather, the folks back in the kitchen swear by the lime soup, made with shredded chicken, fried tortilla bits and lime juice.
