The husband-and-wife ownership team behind this Ukie Village market closed the doors on their suburban mega-grocery to downsize to a cozier city storefront with a French market vibe. Here, they aim for a European-style scene complete with fresh flowers, fresh-baked baguettes, and the namesake wicker baskets adorning the walls and shelves. The store is lined with glass cases housing a bevy of baked goods (danishes, muffins, lemon squares and cheesecakes and more) as well as lasagna, eggplant parm, salmon steaks and other entrees that can be heated up on site or purchased for carryout. Soups, salads and breakfast sandwiches make for easy grab-and-go meals during the week; weekend brunchers can snare specials such as French toast made with artisan bread.
