Owner Joe Sabath (of Marble, formerly of Cleos) and his friends were downright tired of having to venture into Bucktown, across Western Ave., for a family-friendly meal. The solution was to open this Humboldt Park neighborhood eatery on July 18, offering eclectic American fare that will appeal to all ages. Take the deep-fried cream cheese balls (with chives, bacon and seasoning and a breading of animal crackers, goldfish crackers and saltines) or the bacon-wrapped pretzel sticks with sweet chili dipping sauce. There's also straight grown-up fare as well, such as homemade burgers stuffed with bacon and blue cheese, along with tilapia, steaks and a coconut-battered butterfly shrimp po' boy sandwich. The decor inside plays on the directional theme, with weather vanes and compasses throughout.
