This bumping little bar is covered from floor to ceiling with regal floral wallpaper and Chinese knick-knacks. A few marble-top bistro tables and stools along the bar provide perches for customers, many waiting for a seat at Wakamono next door (the bar has a separate entrance but is also connected by a door inside). The sometimes-enforced admission policy is inspired by gentlemen's clubs of the early 20th century, meaning ladies must arrive with a male friend. Bartenders slice up garnishes for Asian-inspired martinis flavored with lychee, cucumber, passion fruit and ginger, while other options include a few kinds of sake and beer. Snacks (pan-fried dumplings, egg rolls, wasabi fries, crab rangoon) are available from the kitchen next door if you order with the bartender.
