Meat is king at this Lincoln Park spot from John McLean, former Levy Restaurants chef de cuisine. The menu focuses on burgers, offering more than 10 half-pounders, including a black angus burger and one topped with short ribs. Fries range from fresh-cut sweet potato to mushroom (actual strips of fried portobello); imaginative dipping options such as truffle aioli complete the experience. Not in the mood for a burger? Chopped salads, mac and cheese and veggie burgers are available too. Beer is the drink of choice, with a decent selection of mostly domestic options, some on draft and some tucked into a large metal beer cooler. The vibe is casual but the decor is urban chic, highlighting an original work by local artist Juan Angel Chavez made from signs, wood and other found objects.
