This South Loop cafe has a cheerful atmosphere, with bold yellow walls and a bright color scheme. Much of the food is served cafeteria style, with home-style eats cooked fresh daily (much like its sister spot, Chicago Carryout) With prices that start at $5.95, ou get one main and two sides, with huge portions to boot. There's also a line-up of cooked-to-order items, such as Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef, mozzarella sticks, pizza puffs and customizable burgers with fried eggs, bacon and cheese. For breakfast, the fare is pretty standard with omlettes, pancakes, French toast and the like, all made to order. Located on a corner lot across the street from where the new Roosevelt campus is being built, we have a feeling the students will be a' knockin' for this inexpensive comfort food, even during summer break to sit on the outdoor patio.
