Marshall holds storyhours for children after the school day is over. The branch has a respectable black history and literature section, though not as extensive as what can be found at the Woodson branch (regional) library, located a few miles away at 9525 S. Halsted St. (phone 773-747-6900). The Juvenile collection contains all of the Newberry and Caldecott award winners. On special occasions, Marshall will show movies, usually with an educational or historic focus. And once or twice every month, adults can participate in Book Talk, a discussion of some hot new book. Book Talk is held on an informal basis, so check with the library to find the date and time of the next session.
