Barbecue fans can sample five types of sauces -- Carolina (slightly spicy), Memphis (more mild), St. Louis (100 percent tomato-based and spicy), Kansas City (thick and sweet) or Texas style (medium-hot) -- at this casual UIC-area counter-service spot. Turkey breasts, hot link pork sausages smoked for nearly 18 hours, lamb and other offerings can be cooked in the sauce of your choice -- or sauce can be served the side. New meat is added every 30 minutes to the eatery's three Memphis-made wood-based smokers to ensure that sandwiches and entrees are always fresh. The restaurant also offers homemade peach sweet tea, along with savory sides like baked beans and mac and cheese, served on paper plates in its casual dining room.
