The Original Alps Restaurant & Pancake House
This casual Iriving Park neighborhood diner originally opened in 1970 but closed its doors in 2005 to make way for a now defunct bank. Feeling the itch to serve the folks of the Northwest Side once again, owner Bob Theo remodeled the space (the dining room now seats about 100) and reopened in 2009. Look for a classic, affordable menu of breakfast and lunch favorites such as pancakes, waffles, crepes, blintzes, omelets, skillets, burgers, hot and cold sandwiches, and homemade soups.
