As Lake Barrington's brewery, Wild Onion Brewing Co., is thrilled to announce the launch of its Bomber Series. The series kicks off at the end of July with the Golden Ale, followed by two more Belgian ales, the Dubbel and the Trippel, in the limited release bombers (22-ounce bottles).
"We will begin our limited release, 22-ounce bombers with a Belgian ale series," Mike Kainz of Wild Onion Brewing Co. said. “Because of the limited quantity, these bombers will be available at the Onion Pub & Brewery in Lake Barrington and limited retail outlets."
The first to be released is the Golden Ale, a bottle-conditioned beer that contains 7-percent alcohol by volume. This will be followed by Dubbel and Trippel, which are stronger beers.
"What is interesting about these Belgian beers is the history of the style,” Kainz said. “When the Czechs and Germans perfected clear lagers 150 years ago, it became the beer of choice by most Europeans. The Golden Ale was Belgian's marketing response to a pilsner."
Wild Onion Brewing Co. is also anticipating the future release of the Drago, a Russian imperial stout, in a 22-ounce bomber. Drago is the brewery’s winter seasonal and has previously only been available on tap.

About Wild Onion Brewing Co.
The Wild Onion Brewing Co. began in 1996 with the simple goal of brewing the finest beer available to local beer drinkers. Its original brewery was located two blocks away and was pieced together with used dairy tanks in a small warehouse. As Wild Onion Brewing Co. grew its keg and bottle sales throughout Chicagoland, it began to dream of building a taproom and pub on its site. That dream became reality when the Onion Pub & Brewery opened its doors to the public in 2003. The Onion Pub & Brewery invites the community to visit its three banquet rooms that can accommodate up to 250 guests.
