The opulent lobby restaurant of the Peninsula Hotel Chicago occupies the fifth floor of the hotel. The menu, which changes daily, features organic, fresh ingredients with new takes on American classics. There's plenty of eye-candy here, from the green and gold hand-tufted carpet to the gold leaf-covered double-dome ceiling. Twenty-foot-high floor-to-ceiling windows overlook Michigan Avenue. Guests who stop in for afternoon tea are treated to the soothing sounds of harps and violins. The Chocolate Bar at The Peninsula features live jazz and a chocolate buffet on Friday and Saturday nights.
