This tropical BYOB situated just west of the busy six corners intersection brings Caribbean and Latin flavors from owner Jorge Laguardia. Laguardia's street cred as the former owner of Laguardia Cuban Bistro (now closed) and being the brother of Carlos LaGuardia, owner of Cafe Laguardia, in Bucktown serves him well at the new lunch and dinner spot. The current menu features many of the same items found on Cafe Laguardia's, with plans to expand to incorporate more Caribbean dishes in the future. Brazilian-style churrasco, oxtail stew and spicy shredded beef with a side of rice and beans are among the available entrees. Different types of rices, like Caribbean rice with chorizo, ham and bacon don the menu, as well as a vegetarian version with pimientos, onions, tomatoes served in a plantain. Plans to debut a weekend brunch menu and a full bar are currently in the works.
