The first Chicago project from New York-based BLT Restaurants is a modern Italian spot with chef Todd Stein at the helm, located within the JW Marriott Chicago. Step inside and you'll notice traditional materials incorporated in a modern way throughout the space, from deep caramel-colored banquettes to walnut floors, all flooded in golden lighting. Once at your table, start with antipasti, then work your way into small plate apps like the chilled lobster with buffalo milk mozzarella, arugula, chives and lemon relish. Entrees are hearty twists on Italian classics, such as the shortribs braised in red wine with ricotta-creamed spinach, or the kobe sirloin, served tagliata style with braised escarole and giant white beans. The lounge serves light fare (wood-fired pizza, crostini and antipasti) one hour after the dining room closes.
