Since the late 1930s, smells from Blommer Chocolate's West Loop factory have wafted throughout the downtown, tantalizing tourists and locals alike. Now the chocolate icon is bringing it's signature treats to Andersonville with a pop-up shop, open through Easter 2012. The store features a nostalgia section, with candy from the days of yore, along with a baking section that includes items such as chocolate chips and cocoa powder. There's also a wide selection of Blommer's signature chocolate-covered products, everything from pretzels and raisins to potato chips and turtles. Owners say there's a chance the shop might remain open past its six-month lease if business is brisk.
