This Spanish-inspired restaurant and lounge has taken over the former Martini Park space in River North from the folks behind upscale Mexican spot Mercadito. There are plenty of cocktails on tap designed by NYC-based Tipping Bros., small plates for lunch and dinner and late-night bites for the lounge crowd. Executive chef Ryan Poli (former chef at Perennial) dreamed up the Spanish-inspired menu, which is designed to encourage sampling and sharing. Expect to find an oysters-and-crudo bar, gazpachos, house-made cured charcuterie, flatbreads, homemade pastas and "parilla" meats grilled over alder grapevine, hickory and mesquite on a Uruguyan wood-fired grill. The massive space includes modern elements such as tin ceilings and 3D murals by a local graffiti artist. Separate from the restaurant's main space is Barcito, a lunch and after-work hangout inspired by pintxos bars of Spain.
