This Ukrainian Village bakery lost courtyard space when it moved from its original Damen Avenue digs to a more prominent storefront space just down the street, but gained a valuable Chicago summer commodity: air conditioning. Check the display cases in front for a selection of six to eight different cakes a daily, as well as individually portioned tarts in flavors such as strawberry custard and peaches and cream. Other popular treats include the morning-starter corn muffin with an egg-filled center, croissants and vegan items, which change daily.
