This Lincoln Park bistro underwent a few stops and starts out of the gates but eventually brought in former "Top Chef" contestant Dale Levitski (La Tache, Trio) to try to work magic in the kitchen, and he's since succeeded. At his side is sous chef Sara Nguyen, who also competed on Season 3 of "Top Chef." Levitski's French-American menu is a $60 three-course, prix-fixe affair, though a la carte options are also available. First courses include seared scallops with parsnip puree, sauteed parsnips, peanuts and popcorn, while entree selections provide plenty of hearty dishes such as short ribs, spiced venison and a New York strip. A chef's table in the restaurant's back room serves a 10-course, $125 tasting menu for parties of four to eight, with two tiers of wine pairings available for $50 or $100. Sunday brunch offers Levitski's take on brunch classics from steak and eggs (crab hushpuppy-wrapped skirt steak) to oatmeal (served seared with carrots, creme fraiche and mandarin-kumquat puree).
