The folks behind Bucktown's Coast are also behind this South Loop sibling. Neighborhood families, couples on dates and other diners often come to the eatery's large, open dining room to sip on its lychee martini and other signature cocktails. Offering more than 30 types of sushi rolls -- including options like the Dragon Rock maki, spicy rock shrimp tempura and avocado that's deep-fried and topped with wasabi mayo -- South Coast's menu also features Japanese-themed dishes like chicken teriyaki, soups and appetizers like its hamachi carpaccio, thinly sliced hamachi topped with cilantro, jalapeno and garlic oil and drizzled with lime juice. Just be careful to keep an eye out for the eatery's sign: Sandwiched in between high-rise buildings, South Coast can be easy to miss.
