This Old Irving Park storefront spot offers traditional Moroccan home cooking like Chicken Bastila, made with almonds and phyllo dough that's lightly sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar, and Lamb Casablanca, tender lamb cooked with the Moroccan Ras el hanout blend of spices, potatoes and olives. The full-service eatery's three rooms feature colorful fabric draped along the ceiling, Moroccan art and tables lined with chairs and more casual sofa-like seating. Shokran also serves several types of couscous and homemade merguez sausage, which can be ordered with Moroccan mint tea to sip or homemade Moroccan almond and date cookies to snack on.
