Local artists handpainted the roosters that decorate the tabletops at this Logan Square spot, and its French-American menu reflects the same artisan vibe. Chef Frederic Zahm, formerly of Pierrot Gourmet, offers items such as a sandwich stuffed with beef roasted in-house, served with tarragon aioli, and a weekly "soup from the coop," such as butternut squash soup with fried sage. The restaurant also brews its own blend from Ukrainian Village-based Dark Matter Coffee, served with a weekly bagel and cream cheese choice, organic yogurt with hemp granola and other breakfast fare. Place your dine-in order at the eatery's counter, but don't worry about your plates; Rewster's staff will clean up when you finish your frittata or mixed greens salad.
