This contemporary American restaurant, which has garnered quite the following in the ‘burbs for its upscale seasonal fare, has opened a third location in Wicker Park with an eco-friendly mindset and a massive sidewalk patio. True to the restaurant's name, which means "green" in Greek, the dining room features reclaimed wood tables and lighting made from wine bottles. The menu revolves around ingredients from farmers and ranchers that use sustainable and pesticide/hormone-free practices. Local produce is featured when possible, but it's not so Midwest-centric that you won't see signature dishes such as lobster-stuffed avocado and soy-glazed Alaskan black cod. For breakfast, fill up on stacks, essentially open-faced sandwiches topped with veggies, sunnyside-up eggs or chipotle tofu. For lunch, the expansive menu features sandwiches, salads, wraps, flatbreads and more, along with a smoothie and juice bar. Accompany your meal with organic or biodynamic wines, craft beers and a cocktail list showcasing small-batch spirits.
