Owner Dave Samber decided to rekindle the sweet energy of the building that houses Polo Cafe (it's a former confectionary) by opening a candy store in the address in 1985. In 1990, he shifted gears and launched this full-service restaurant featuring steaks, chops, seafood and pasta, plus lighter fare such as sandwiches and soups. The same menu is served at lunch and dinner; there's also a Saturday brunch menu featuring choices such as creme brulee French toast, eggs Benedict, and steak and eggs. Polo's dining room is reminiscent of an old soda fountain, with tin ceilings, brown leather booths and hardwood floors. The adjacent Old Eagle Room, a converted Lithuanian nickelodeon, is used for private parties and holiday events. Samber also owns Bridgeport Bed and Breakfast, which is located above the cafe.
