A joint effort between Soo Choi and Kevin Heisner of Heisler Hospitality, this French café is an atelier-inspired eatery whose name translates to "in the open air." Located right next to the Robie House in the University of Chicago's Hyde Park campus, the eatery features simple dishes with a French twist, such as royal pies (steak and ale, chicken Balti, mushroom and kale), meatloaf, a ham and cheese croquet monsieur and various "plein grain" bowls that include rice, quinoa, veggies and more. The spot also features pastries and homemade sweets such as toffee pudding and boozy biscuit trifle.
